A great new article by Robert Reynolds who is an expert on the JFK files was posted recently at Max Holland's site: When is the News Media Going to Catch On? Thanks Robert for mentioning my work in the endnotes!

Author and researcher Gus Russo has made available some previously undisclosed documents that, unlike the much ballyhooed but mostly yawn inducing 2021 National Archives release, could really be useful to researchers. Gus Russo, author of Live by the Sword and Brothers in Arms has just released an article on the ho-hum 2021 JFK documents. "What's really stunning," notes Russo, "is the sensational media coverage and the National Archives' release of informants' personal data." New JFK Assassination Documents? Meh

There is an excellent article on the upcoming JFK file releases at Washington Decoded by Robert Reynolds who is a professor at National Chi Nan University in Taiwan. Reynolds writes: ... it is also understandable that people might think there are still important documents left unreleased. A closer look at NARA’s latest data on the ARC, however, reveals just how unlikely this is. Noteably, Reynolds also writes about the loudest media voice during the current (and previous) debate(s) regarding the files releases. Reynolds notes that: Jefferson Morley, a former Washington Post journalist, cited [the DRE] file as an instance where “If and when they are released, these pages may shed light on the CIA cover-up that followed JFK’s murder.” This assertion makes no sense. It’s autumn of 2021 and along with falling leaves, football and apple cider, the time is upon us for the latest round of inflated oratory from the JFK conspiracy theorists clamoring for the release of the “secret JFK files.” President Biden announced on October 23rd that more time is needed to process the records that were due to be released on the 26th. This decision was not greeted warmly by those who are convinced that a conspiracy killed the 35th President. Leading the way for critics of Biden’s ruling, as always, is former Washington Post editor and gadfly Jefferson Morley. When Morley burst on the assassination scene in the late nineties, he represented himself as an activist for the release of JFK files who was agnostic on the question of conspiracy and indeed leaned toward the idea that Oswald was guilty. But an early “red flag” was Morley’s insistence that we will never know the truth until every scrap of paper even tangentially related to the JFK case is released. Fast...
